Murphy has very good speed, uses his frame well. A speedy wideout who is tough and will throw his body around. He has good hands, but isn't the greatest runner of routes. He is likely a 3rd round pick at this point. Durable.

CONCERNS:

Needs to polish up his routes. Not very quick

COLLEGE:

2008:

Selected as a team captain for the 2008 season…Started in every game for the Gators…Extended his streak of consecutive games with a reception to 27 in the Gators’ BCS National Championship Game win…Led the team in receiving yards (655) and ranked second in receptions (38) and average receiving yards per game with 46.8…Led all wide receivers in receiving yards in Florida victories over Hawaii, Miami, Arkansas and Alabama… Averaged 17.2 yards per catch, tied for fourth-best in the SEC… Scored his final touchdown as a Gator off a 20-yard pass by Tim Tebow in the first quarter of the BCS National Championship Game… Surpassed the 1,000 career-receiving yards’ mark with 54 yards in the victory over South Carolina…Three of his five touchdowns versus Arkansas were for 15 yards or more and collected 70 total yards receiving in the Gators’ road victory...Also contributed on special teams, appearing on the punt return team versus Ole Miss and on the hands’ team against LSU…Notched his first TD of the 2008 season with a 48-yard touchdown grab from Tim Tebow against Miami

2005:

Played in the final nine games of the season, mainly on special teams and five wideout sets…Did not catch any passes on the season…Made collegiate debut in the Kentucky game

Attended Lakewood (St. Petersburg, Fla.) High School...Team captain and three-year starter...Competed as a winged-T option quarterback, twice earning team MVP honors on offense and once on special teams...Shifted to wide receiver during his senior campaign, as Rivals.com rated him the 37th-best receiver prospect in the country during his short tenure at that position...In his only year at that spot, Murphy had 26 receptions for 520 yards and three touchdowns...Also returned one kickoff and one punt for touchdowns...His most memorable moment on the gridiron was taking the ball as quarterback and running up the middle of the field to score a 50-yard touchdown during his first year playing football...Ran as the anchor on a 4x400 relay on the Lakewood squad, winning the state championship as a sophomore...Also played basketball for the Spartans at power forward.
