We had too many mental errors on defense, gave up too many big plays, turned the ball over too many times and didn't execute on special teams. When you do those things, it generally results in something like that.

They have contracts?

This is not exactly a ringing endorsement of the GM or the coaching staff. The owner says what some of us here have been saying all along. "I thought we could make the playoffs" He didn't say super bowl. In other words it's about winning games. This crew either doesn't want to win games or they don't know how. What is Davis taking full responsibility for- bringing these guys in? Anyway like some of us have been saying it's the regression that's the problem oh and he didn't put all of the blame on the players either. So for those of you who like to quote Hue Jackson (you know who you are) for support of you myopic arguments- starting to look like even the owner is a "whacked out Raider fan"- but only because he appears to want win! It just doesn't look like these guys can get it done- but "they have contracts so they'll be here."

As the two previous posters have alluded to is player personnel.
Who on this team would make an impact on another team, or even start?
We can name a few, and that is it, and any honest fan will have to admit that. This is not a play off caliber group. They quit. They revert to stupidity. They take a good play and follow it with 13 bone head plays.
I have serious doubts about DMAC. In a perfect world, a team built to his strengths MAY do well with him, yet at the same time he's oft injured. I'd say we simply need a new RB. Somehow they don't like Taiwan. Reece looks like a plain good football player, period. He can get things done. Knapp is just now realizing this?
Play calling sucks, and/or we just don't have the players who can execute. I think it's both.
This roster needs to be changed dramatically. Many players need to go.
Yesterday and this season have been a huge embarrassment.
Where are the huge play makers? We simply have too few play makers on this roster.
THAT'S where the problem is with this team.
How can the coaches overcome THIS in one season?
Dennis Allen seems like a lone wolf out there -- a la the players must KNOW they are on their last season, perhaps in the NFL let alone in Oakland.
We need many picks and pick ups or this will continue.
The culture that is Oakland is in need of a radical change, along with Knapp having to go by the way side -- that guy plain sucks.
I don't even look forward to watching this team any more. When the O gets the ball, they are simply not going to score very often, even on a short field.
Dennis Allen is extremely pissed, spinning his wheels, in over his head with this personnel.

The coaching sucks. namely KNAPP . his playcalling is shit!. PLUS the zone blocking scheme must be scraped for POWER. the raiders have to get back to their roots. with madden and flores and okay I'll say Gruden. He needs to establish a running game and puts the burden on Carson Palmer's shoulders thats not a winning formula and to use REECE, REECE and REECE. Where's Jeremy stewart and Taiwan give them some carries. 7 points was all they could muster in 3 quarters is unspeakable,
AND Hoffman who is coaching their special teams ? Hoffman ??
this guy is a reject and hasn't done much in the NFL . Every team he has been the teams special teams was horrendous.

Anyone who doubts that Allen doesn't want to win...look at his press conference today. The guy is hurting, he is getting a hell of an initiation as being a HC in the NFL. These players tore out Hue's heart at the end of last year, hung Cable out to dry before that. At 1st I thought coaches wouldn't come to Oakland just because of dealing with Al Davis. What HC would walk into this rats nest of fringe players with big league egos? I think Allen makes it quite clear that the players need to step up and I agree. Whether they will or not, is a whole nuther ball of wax.

It's a combination of players not playing to the max potential; plus bad coaching on Offense, Defense and Special Teams. What can I say? This Raiders “D” is horrible. They have allowed 135 points in the last 3 games. This is the 4th most points during a 3 games stretch since 1970. We need a HC with credentials of winning. It will make all the difference. Then during the off season continue to get rid of players that are not making the grade. It's all about coaching!!

...I'm tuning out for the season... we are the worst team in the league... didn't even bother to watch the NO game, after the TB debacle... time to spend my Sundays on something more enjoyable... this team has checked out for the season... well so am I...
...and no, I'm not a fair weather fan, been a Raider fan all my life since I was like 8 years old back in '88, and the only success I've seen in my lifetime, have been the Gruden years... so I have endured, like most younger fans out there plenty of losing...

preseason power ranking of nfl coaching staffs put raiders at #28(good job reggie)...the teams behind the raiders was vikes, dolphins, chargers, saints.....DA and staff lost to fins, chargers and saints.....and the vikes are 6-4
the only coaching staff I would like less to have in the nfl is NORV....... hell......a guy who wasnt even hired as HC...a fill in for a 1-15 team has the colts at 6-4......do you think caldwell sucked as coach...yeah.....manning kept it together but once he was gone and left a crappy coaching staff to run the show....rock bottom.....

Guess what Raider fans--
No money to spend=no victories.
Dennis Allen is searching for decent players to put on the field. But the Raiders don't have any talent. I mean these starters would be second string on other NFL teams. The only star we really have is Marcel Reese.
The coaching also has to do with it. When is the last time you saw Lechler do bad? He did pretty bad the last game but before that, he was a Pro Bowl punter. That is the special teams coordinator.
Greg Knapp is an AWFUL OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR. He is a bad play caller plus his blocking scheme is TERRIBLE! I would throw off my back foot to if the defense constantly came at me like they do Palmer.
How about the defense. I don't know whether the players are dumb enough not to know the schemes or whether the schemes do not work. How do you leave a wide receiver so wide open?
The bottom line is that McKenzie is going to have real busy off-seasons ahead of him.

Everyone wants to say its the players but I'm sorry the players have changed and the coaching has changed same results you know why I'll tell you the Refs and the league has not changed and they are not going to. If you noticed before the real refs (FAGS) came back the Raiders were doing just fine in the penalties not only in committing them but also in having them called on the other team. Why do you see players like R.Seymoure and Fatass Warren Sapp get kicked out of games, because they get tired of being Held and no call chop blocked no call, blocked from behind no call I could go on but whats the point everyone wants to believe that this bullcrap doesn't go on but I know I speak to plenty of fans of the game and they all have a bad outlook on the Raiders which is fed by the media and the gay ass Refs that perpectuate this so called "bad culture" that the Raiders have. It is clear that its whinning if you speak on this but the truth is the truth. And for you Raider Nation people that don't believe me you should hear what they say about you the Raider fans. I had to clown my nephew because he said he would never go to a Raiders game because he would get killed by Raiders Fans. Wake up Raider Nation and see the truth for what it is, "Its not Us its them!!!!! Its not that we don't have talent its that we don't utilize the talent we have correctly and we dont have talent good enough to overcome the sometimes bonehead penalties and ghost penalties that get called against us, in Al's days he had talent that could overcome penalties and still win. Its called intestinal fortitude which most of our players dont have, they're called "FOOTBALL PLAYERS" and we need some that are not only FOOTBALL PLAYERS but leaders too because the coach can't be in the huddle when its crunch time and the calls aren't going your way. OK I'm rambling but you get the point........

How would we ever know if the players we have are real contenders?
Blaming the players is NOT an option.
Blaming a dead man in NOT an option.
Don't you all remember when Tom Brady was on ESPN every day and how the Pats took him #1 overall? NOT!!!!!!
Or how every team was fighting over Victor Cruz. NOT!!!!
We have players that would be Super Stars on other teams. DHB would
be a household name if playing for the Giants or Pats so would Moore.
Burris, Wheeler, Branch would start for more than half the teams int eh NFL.
Palmer, despite the poor timed INTs has carried this team and has put up quality numbers.
Myers, Reece, Goordon could start for more than half the teams in the NFL.
DMAC, even with the injuries would be welcomed by more than 70%'of the teams in the NFL.
Condo is the best long snapper in the league and is a big part of Lechler and Seabass's success.
I know we would need much more than that. But to blame the players is a wasted argument. The RAIDERS are picking from the same talent pool. They all run fast 40s, they all strong and have been playing football for years. Unless you can prove to me that the RAIDERS are picking players from an ultered universe STOP BLAMING THE PLAYERS!!!!!
It's what THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM does with the players after they are signed is what makes or breaks your organization.
If the RAIDERS would have signed Luck or RG3 they would both be labeled BUST by now. And YES ShantiRatm and a guy never hired as a HC are much much much better than what we have.
We need to get the right coaching staff FIRST!!!! Then start working the puzzle pieces. Or we are just polishing a turd over and over.
COACHING IS EVERYTHING!!!!!!
The Donkey MUST GO!!! The Donkey MUST GO!!!! The Donkey MUST GO!!!!!!

Why does it matter who is picked then? Just put the college players names in a hat and have some Budweiser girl pull them out and whoever she picks, that is who the team gets?
No sense trying to reason with pure ignorance, there is a reason why teams have scouts, there is a reason why some teams pick someone like Jamucus Russell and Ro McClain instead of INSERT GOOD PLAYERS NAME HERE. It is one of the major reasons why some teams continue to lose and other teams continue to win. Drafting the right players is probably the biggest factor in creating a winning team.....dumbest comment of the year goes to....drumroll.....autumnwind77, congrats.

I get it now. Your a chick. You want to be that Bud girl picking the names.
That would be the only excuse for why you read my comments like a women. Not being able to read between the lines and understand what the men are saying.
That fact that you are indeed a woman would explain why you write as though you never played a down of football in your life.
Look lady! First of all you as the Bud girl would be better than what we are doing now. My point is that NO MATTER WHO we pick The RAIDERS organization is what insures they will be a bust.
I post my comments and try to be respectful to poeple on here even if I disagree. The next time you attack me personally I will let you know the game the time and where you can say it to my face. Or will you puss out just like Killem did?
And YES I am 10 years old. It will be a 10 year old kicking your ass.

McClain is so bad, it is disgusting, he needs to be on the bench. All he had to do was fill the hole and he runs into a Guard who already was blocking Kelly and the RB runs right by him. Moore can no longer catch or run a route. DHB still can't catch. Burris and Wheeler are 2 steps behind every time. They have given up, they don't care, they will be out of the NFL and they don't care.....just shows the character of these players. They get close to the QB and they have no idea how to finish a sack, oh shit, another big run for Pearman, look at those guys, they can't even tackle. Ridiculous, these players have no pride, goodbye to all of you, you'll be given the boot as soon as the season is over. Thanks for 2/ 8-8 seasons, you'll be legends.
