Worst Team in the NFL?
Authored by: jefft4 on Tuesday, December 04 2012 @ 01:14 PM CST
The Raiders look so terrible. Are they the worst team in the NFL right now? The Chiefs were but may be coming together. The Jags were before Henne took over as QB. The Panthers are pretty bad but Newton is more talented than the entire Raiders starters on O.

The coaching is bad. The players are bad. I know this whole thread is going to be coaching vs. talent. I am not sure how anyone could defend either side.
WE CAN BEAT PAYTON
Authored by: AutumnWind77 on Tuesday, December 04 2012 @ 02:13 PM CST
The RAIDERS game plan to beat Manning Thursday Night:

Study the film very closely. Not game film. The Ace Ventura Pet Detective film and kidnap Manning before the game. But that wouldn't work cause we would have to score and Caleb Hanie would cut us up like Johnny U anyway.

And if you are not embarrassed enough our mentally challenged owner complains to reporters that we don't get the prime time announcers. OMG!!! And what is up with his hair?

This team reminds me of a bit Bill Cosby did about the Temple team he played for. He said they were so bad on O that they started burning clock as soon as the game started and the defensive philophacy was.... When the other team would score they would say "So what!"

Hopefully Donkey will stay home. Coming back to Oakland could only hurt us. But what would we do if we don't get the same old same old
rhetoric from the Donkey after the game?

talks about gruden return
Authored by: davis83 on Wednesday, December 05 2012 @ 12:33 AM CST
well my take is give DA and Reggie another season. DA needs time. he is a good coach although the results are not there, he can turn this thing around. I say they are going in the right direction but the raider's need time. Rome wasn't built overnight. Reggie has gotten rid of players to free up the salary cap and he will get some
help through the draft. the nation needs to be patience. As far as changes , get rid of ,Knapp. Now he has to go.
Morons

Look at you fools, now they want Mark to fire McKenzie and Allen and replace them with Gruden, so the players can be happy. MORONS, this is the same behavior Al Davis ran the team into the ground with and the fans condone it even after his death. Definition of insane....doing the same thing, over and over, expecting different results. It's embarrassing enough to be a Raider fan these days, but as soon as the fans speak or write, it gets very embarrassing.

Broncos Raiders Game Picks and Predictions
Authored by: markoman9482 on Wednesday, December 05 2012 @ 04:50 PM CST
Well the game starts at 8:20 EST. So I guess it is safe to say the Raiders will lose by 8:40 EST. Just kidding. I actually think this game might be closer than our recent game, the cleveland game WAS NOT close idc what the score was. I think the Raiders are gonna hang around until the fourth quarter but Manning in the end will be to much. Broncos will win 34-21, the Raiders will drop to 3-10 and officially have double digit losses for the first time since 2009 and the Jon Gruden and Oakland Raiders talks will continue to get more heated.
they will throw up a 50 burger on us

after today's national game in the spot light is over i hope mark davis has some pride hopefully davis jr learned SOMETHING from is dad and fires EVERY coach on the roster and mckenzie for hiring this clown show...all you mckenzie dennis allen and tarver supporters go get a greg knapp jersy and hug eachother....

who in their right mind is excited about next year? with these same coaches? this is a business and raider fans need to wake up and stop buying tickets be a fan from the couch i no longer drive 3+ hours to watch this slop others should do the same if they want change.
I give you Gold!!!!

And I get called a moron. Mrs. Barry I complimented you on your good take on a few games this year and tried my hardest to explain what the deal with this team is but you just love being a Dickhead.

Look for the last time I never thought this team was the 77 RAIDERS or even a playoff team. I'm fully aware of the lack of talent and where we lack it the most. I GOT IT! WE ALL GET IT!

Why do you think last year when we were 8-8 people on this board were addressing players and filling holes. Then we were all blindsided by the firing of Hue Jackson. Who if was still the HC I would be on your side of this argument.

The Donkey took a below average team and reduced it to a laughing stock. I AGREE WITH YOU and have wrote it many times that it will take
time. But I watch the games and especially the ones I saw live and this coaching staff S U C K S !!!

I would replace the entire staff with the University of Washington's staff today in minute. We don't have to hang our star on Chucky there are plenty of candidates out there. We would never get Chucky because when he does decide to come back to coaching we will not be close to being able to afford him. He may end up in Philly at $8mil a year.

Anyway, the team is lacking coaching and talent. We need to put the wagon behind the horse and not in front.
Norv Turner out in San Diego, our next OC?
Authored by: markoman9482 on Thursday, December 06 2012 @ 05:26 PM CST
I am a little saddened. Norv Turner has been keeping the Chargers down for the past three seasons. Be interesting to see who they go after to replace him.

Who would like to see Norv Turner come back to Oakland? Not as a head coach of course. But to replace Greg Knapp as the offensive coordinator. Dennis Allen is most likely going to be back in 2013 like it or not. With that being said, we need a big name coordinator to replace Greg Knapp. And Norv Turner is one of if not the best man in running an offense. He cannot run a whole football team, he proved this in Washington, Oakland, and San Diego. But when he was a coordinator, his offenses were always tops in the league. I would welcome him back as long as he was just a coordinator. Thoughts?
Fire him now!!!!
Authored by: AutumnWind77 on Thursday, December 06 2012 @ 08:03 PM CST
Fire him now!!!!! FIRE HIM NOW!!!!! OMG this is impossible to watch. We are unprepared, we are out of condition, we are not even an NFL team.
its like this
Authored by: bnemi80 on Saturday, December 08 2012 @ 12:03 PM CST
Been away from this board for a while but I need to make something known.

I believe in what McKenzie and Allen are doing.

Trying to do.

Boys.

Its gonna take another year or two to get rid of all the selfish, entitled, UN talented players this roster has.

Already you're seeing a few guys show signs with what we want like Burris and Wheeler and Adams on D.

Guys that are unheralded, but play godamn tough.

Get it?

McClain is the poster child for the late Al Davis run..another Jamarcus..worse.

He makes me sick I would cut him instantly and the Pats will no doubt sign him.

I dunno..bottom line..we can't panic..I like the direction they want..the players are just not here yet.

And yeah, we need to play Pryor just to see what he can do.

START him THIS week against KC.

If he plays well, he starts the last 3.
All I want for Christmas
Authored by: OAKTOWNKID83 on Sunday, December 09 2012 @ 11:06 AM CST
Raider Nation,

All I want for Christmas is:

* a PROVEN Head Coach - Allen ain't it
* a proven OC - Knapp Ain't it
* a proven DC - Tarver Ain't it
* Better Scouts looking for real talent
* to stop going after The Youngest Head Coach in the NFL
* to stop Drafting the fastest player in the combine
* to Stop signing Heisman Trophy Winner
* a real Offensive Line. You could put any HOF QB and he can't deliver a victory with this line
* a whole new Deffense. Keep Houston, Huff, Shaughnessy and Branch
* For Reggie to do some real soul searching and make some hard decisions and not let his pride and ego get in the way

I'm tired of defending my beloved Raiders. It's been a long time (2002). We the fans deserve a better product, a better stadium and at least a winning season (9-7).

That's all I want for Christmas.
raider's need to find their identity
Authored by: davis83 on Sunday, December 09 2012 @ 06:33 PM CST
The raider's need players for depth but most importantly they need to establish an identity . they lost it. that zone blocking scheme has to go. the raiders are not zbs they are power . look at their history and thats what I am saying Al hated and demised the zbs. they used it last year and mcfad did well(although injured)they the comentators, writers and talk show host keep saying what happened to the players , they regressed. well, its not all o the players, its the COACHING...THE CHANGE IN COACHING PHILOSOPHY. THATS PART F NOT THE MAJOR PROBLEM. hOW CAN YOU EXPECT A TEAM TO GO BETTER THAN 8-8 WHEN THE WHOLE DAMM COACH STAFF AND THEIR PHILOSOPHY HAS CHANGED? NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE.
SO ALL i AM SAYING IS THE RAIDER'S HAVE TO PLAY RAIDER FOOTBALL AND THATS POWER AND INTIMIDATION. DENNS ALLEN NEEDS TIME AND HE WILL TUN THIS THING AROUND.
BUT LETS DUMP ZBS.
Grade the RAIDERS vs Donkeys
Authored by: AutumnWind77 on Tuesday, December 11 2012 @ 02:21 PM CST
I give them a surprising D. They played tough and not sound too cynical but I think the Refs shoved it up our ass a little. The Donkey O line was holding more than ours but we were getting flagged for it like crazy.

We have lived through this for a long time. Back in the 70s and 80s we were good enough to beat the other team and the Refs week in week out. Through the 90s and 2000s we have not had a good enough team to beat them both. And Thursday night was a little lopsided.

I also give them a D because we didn't just let them run for 200 yards.
We did good at stopping them on 1st and 2nd but of course they moved the ball on third down like a hot knife through butter because we have no actual game plan. Our third down D is to have Matt Giordano blitz from 20 yards behind the line of scrimmage.

I don't want to fire another Head Coach. But what exacty am I missing?
Thursday night just like against Clevleand and Cincinnati and New Orleans and Baltimore and Tampa Bay and in Miami we were completely unprepared to even show up for this game.

A football team reflects the personality of it's head coach. If we have un discipline players that are lazy and out of shape, as we so obviously are....THAT IS THE HEAD COACHES FAULT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What are you seeing that I am not seeing? I see a guy who has no clue what he is doing, I do not see any progress at all in any area!!

But we will give him time. Lets give him time. We have sucked for 10 years so what's 3 more mean?

I see other first year coaches out there demanding accountability and getting hard play out of all their players. That guy from Rutgers is kicking the shit out of the Donkey as far as coaching this year. Is it that Tampa is loaded with talent that is making it easy for him?

I'm not saying we have to win every game I just want to be respectable.
Jacobs got put in his place for Tweeting about his old team and not playing. We have a head coach who on camera laughs it up with coaches of a team that just handed us our asses.

The Curious case of Darren McFadden
Authored by: eastcoastraider on Wednesday, December 12 2012 @ 08:06 AM CST
Do we use him as trade bait for more picks this year or do we hope next year will be different and he wont get hurt again? As much as I love his explosiveness I think we have to cut bait. I think even in a power blocking scheme he still will get hurt to easily. Especially if Knapp remains. One thing that boggles my mind is that Reece can generate yardage in that zone/power scheme through the middle and off tackle but DMac can't. I think its a combination of his speed and the scheme, when I played semi-pro and Arena we had a kid who could not run in the zone/power scheme we used. He and i would argue every game but after watching film he was just to fast to the hole for the wash down or the cuts to develop the gap but we had our "slower" guys who thrived in it. I really thought he would be more of an Adrian Peterson but we need picks and we need picks bad.
oh...and a message to mark...
Authored by: 0tt0 on Wednesday, December 12 2012 @ 09:41 PM CST
maybe its your fault reggie hired some unqualified loser.....maybe you should have actually conducted interviews to see who was the best for the job and the various visions the other guys had.....maybe you should have conveyed the message you are looking for the BEST.....you let hue run all over you so the message to reggie was that he can do the same....reggie entered ON SCHOLORSHIP just what the davis haters disliked about davis and the players.....time to get some balls mark and lay it on the line....only the best will be acceptable....reggies scholorship is over and if he wants to hitch his wagon to DA..than so be it.....you both live or die with the consequences

take away the players performance on the field....the management decisions made still suck!!!

scape goat knapp if you must but DA and reggie hired him and they knew what he was going to do
HUGE GAME!! Coming up....
Authored by: AutumnWind77 on Thursday, December 13 2012 @ 01:20 PM CST
At least it is for one guy. If we don't blow out this team let alone win the game it would have to be it.

They are not a good team to begin with. They are having major QB issues. Their number 1 WR is dinged up. With the Thursday night game we have a long week to "prepare". We are home. They are just a few weeks off a teammate committing murder suicide.

Are talent level man to man is higher than the Qwiefs... Correct?

So with that being said if we lose this game, IT COULD ONLY BE COACHING!!!!

And we will most definitely lose out. You could just forget the last 2 games.

For those of you who like to say "I never seen a coach make a tackle or score a touchdown." PLEASE, PLEASE, watch the game Sunday and see the effects of letting #55 say he is sorry and return after he disrupted the team. Those missed tackles, dropped TD passes are A DIRECT RESULT.

We can not lose this game! We just can't! Trust me when I tell you... For the Donkey it's a must win.

WAKE UP REGGIE...DA MUST GO
Authored by: 0tt0 on Friday, December 14 2012 @ 11:02 AM CST
So bonz and killen....apparently knapp and tarver think we need them and the players to remain in place...and DA agrees

"With the change of personnel, now they’re realizing what the scheme can do for them,” Tarver said. “It’s been good. With a year under our belts and keeping as many of these guys as we can, it’ll grow big time.”

“More consistency and higher scoring points,” Knapp said, “because we’re not able to keep those drives long enough right now to get the points on the board. So, by keeping the system in place and keeping the bulk of the players here, now we keep the drives alive and we get our point total up into the mid-20s, and that’s what we want to be.

Raiders coach Dennis Allen said he, too, is a firm believer in what Knapp is doing.
This game will speak volumes
Authored by: OAKTOWNKID83 on Sunday, December 16 2012 @ 10:34 AM CST
If we don't win this game againt KC, we don't belong in the NFL and should be in the SEC where we can try to win the BCS. A lost would speak volumes. It should clearly expose the problem that is ongoing for decades in this organization. It is either coaching, players or just lack of talent. This is the only game I see the Raiders winning. For sure I will not re-new my season tickect for next year. Changes must happen!!

Just win Baby!!
kanpp's offense sucks
Authored by: davis83 on Sunday, December 16 2012 @ 06:12 PM CST
can't score with Knapps offense plain and simple. Last game:
game 12=13pts.
game 13= 10pts
game 14= 15 points -all field goals (no td's)
KEEP MCFADDEN.
Defense is promising.
keep lechler and jano as the best kicking tandem in the league.

Raider's need to keep McFadden
Authored by: davis83 on Monday, December 17 2012 @ 02:33 PM CST
The raider's need to keep McFadden. He is a home run hitter ( he can go all the way )when healthy. The Thing is that you don't just don't give away talent. I'd rather have Mcfadden on the roster than not. We need to get rid of Knapp because he is not utilizing the greatness of Mcfadd. It would be a big mistake to get rid of mcfad. just like it was a mistake to get rid of bush.
The raider's were on the verge of making the playoffs last year.
they have to run Power not ZBS. GET RID of KNapp.
zero TD's against a weak KC is unacceptable.
Disgusting!!!!!

DA throwing knapp under the buss even though he's the guy that selected him knowing what he was going to do....maybe he'll throw tarver over board too to save his arse.....so....if he want to get it right this time who should be the next OC/DC

OC: Ken Wisenhunt
DC: Eric Mangini

do you think these guys will get more respect than knapp/tarver...

oh...mangini selected assuming we use our #3pick on NT Lotulelei
